Position Summary

The Library CollectionsAssociate in Technical Services is responsible for administrative and clericaltasks to support collection activities. Thisrole involves collaborating with various stakeholders, materials receiving and processing,and communicating with library vendors.

LibraryAdministration Center: 510 Stitt Rd. Charlotte, NC 28213

Schedule:

FullTime - Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions

Performing the unpacking of materials from vendors which willinclude receiving shipments from logistics, unpacking boxes, checking packingslips, routing materials to specific individuals if stated on packing slips.

Performing the processing of multi-format materials such as linkingitems in the Intergrated Library System (Polaris), scanning barcodes,processing items (barcodes, RFID tags, property labels, etc.) from smallervendors that are not already processed by our larger vendors.

Researchingand communicating with library vendors when new materials that are damaged andneed to be replaced.

Assistingwith receiving materials and processing invoicing from vendors.

Check-in anddistributing library materials to branches via the Automated Materials HandlingSystem.

Order anddistribute supplies to branches as requested.

Assisting with copy catalogingon an as-needed basis. For example, when we have backlog or a large project.

Assistingwith Interlibrary Loan processing on an as needed basis.

This position does have physical requirements. This includes beingable to lift items up to 30lbs and removing books from heavy boxes.

Participate in planning and evaluation of Collections &Access department operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of oneyear of library experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent

Combination of relevanteducation and relevant experience accepted? Yes

Associate's degree preferred
