Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Vice President of Student Affairs, the Student Services Program Coordinator I (Academic Counselor) provides admissions, career, and academic counseling to prospective and enrolled students. Processing of college admission applications. Responsible for academic advising and academic planning for newly admitted students. Assist as needed with student enrollment testing. Counsels, develops, and revises academic plans with students to ensure Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is being met through the review of grade point averages. Monitor students progress related to SAP and meet with students periodically to discuss academic goals. Assist Student Development Coordinator with the planning and coordination of student events and recruitment activities as needed.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor degree.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor degree in an appropriate related field of study and one (1) years experience in higher education setting. Must be proficient in oral and written communication. Knowledge of advising and transcript analysis. Must be proficient in computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Power- point, Excel, etc.).
