Field Construction Representative (Readvertisement)

Description

Performs responsible field inspection of all aspects of school construction and/or energy efficiency improvement projects; ensures compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.

Qualifications

Required

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.

Four (4) years of experience in one or more of the construction trades with construction, modification, or energy improvement projects involving review and inspection activities, some of which shall have been in a lead role.

Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.

Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.

Knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, and procedures used in the construction, modification, or energy improvement of buildings, schools, and related structures.

Knowledge of the general construction field and one or more of the trades involved in the building construction projects.

Knowledge of related drawings, general construction surveying, and cost estimating.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and regulations, and recognize deviations from such requirements.

Ability to interface effectively with contractors, architects, craftsmen, and the general public.

Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare complete and concise written reports.
