Overview:

The PD team works collaboratively to organize and progress product developments and designs from inception to sample pass off. They house all product detail and changes in both documentation and physical labelling and placement.

How this Role Fits:

The PD Associate role manages the full product development cycle from allocation through ordering. They are focused on the execution of briefs, overseeing organizational aspects of product maintenance, and keeping all teams informed on development progress at the appropriate level of detail. High level of critical thinking, organizational and communication skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Development

Owns category strategy by identifying areas of opportunity, assessing vendor needs, and aligning concepts with financial goals

Initiates all developments with comprehensive briefs and establishes clear timeline expectations

Drives creative direction and vendor communication on development, including amendments throughout course of development

Leads organization of briefs, ensuring all necessary information is collected

Maintains development tracker, PLM systems and other communication tools with vendors to keep developments accurate and on time

Escalates execution issues by brief, as well as broader concerns, to the PD Manager

Identifies and seeks opportunities within production capabilities

Defines acceptable quality standards in partnership with Sourcing

Cross Functional/Internal Team Role

Strong point of view of McGee & Co brand and market position to develop and execute merchandise strategies

Collaborates with needs of buyers, creative and sourcing teams with strategic and purposeful development

Ensure product details are accurate, well recorded and shared with the correct partners

Provides all necessary product information to marketing and copy teams

Liaison for marketing and visual styling on sample availability, timeliness, and photoshoots

Resource for the fulfillment center and customer experience on questions and product details

Oversees TOP approval process

Oversees Sample Pass off process

Flexible to finish any type of task for the benefit of the company

Own special projects, various tasks and occasional errands as needed

Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in product development, merchandising or project management, particularly in the hard goods/home accessories categories

Dynamic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, comfortable working independently

Entrepreneurial spirit who can build new processes or improve processes

Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of information retention

Team player, able to take on any type of task as needed and understand and anticipate the needs of other functions

Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
