Position: Millwright

Location: Belton, SC

Job Type: On-site

Reports to: Regional Manager

Department: North American Operations

Position Purpose: The Millwright is responsible for planning, laying out, installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of industrial mechanical systems and equipment. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of machinery in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and industry standards, supporting Leadec's commitment to excellence in industrial services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec.

Works safely at all times.

Construct, assemble, install, repair, maintain and dismantle industrial machinery and equipment, according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings

Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot the following: pumps, mechanical-power transmission components (belts, chains, gears, reducers, variable-speed drives, shafts, sheaves, couplings, clutches, brakes), machine rolls, hydraulic & pneumatic components, cylinders, valves, fans/blowers, conveyors, bearings, tapes, hoists, cranes, elevators, and mechanical seals

Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb tools

Layout mounting holes, using measuring instruments, and drill holes with a power drill

Rigging equipment to dismantle and/or install plant equipment. Bull rigging is a plus.

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs on a variety of equipment

Perform cutting, grinding, burning, welding, and brazing as required.

Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and various PIVs

Use hand tools and power tools safely

Maintain accurate shop records on all responsible equipment and services

Follows established safety rules and regulations

Keeps work areas and shop areas clean and compliant with 5S standards

Able to read mechanical drawings for fabrication and or assembly of equipment

Able to operate carry deck cranes, heavy industrial rigger forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, high reach lulls

Millwright has experience using heavy duty machine rollers and toe-jacks. Experience using air bearings is a plus

Millwright to have pipe fitting experience of all types of pipe work, e.g., screw, weld, copper, or glue joints

Millwright to have welding experience that includes MIG, Stick, and TIG welding experience a plus

Millwright to have experience with removal & installation of all bearing types

Millwright to have experience using oxyacetylene torch for flame cutting and heating steel

Able to use Theodolite surveying equipment a plus

Able to work in or out of town when needed

Be a team player and motivation to work

Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively.

All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager.

Perform quick analysis and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.

Work from mechanical and/or electrical schematic, sketches, manuals, specifications, written or oral instructions.

Capability to assist in the training of others on necessary skills to perform assignments.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years' verifiable experience in millwright/mechanical trade in industrial/manufacturing environment

Must have cutting torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene)

Must have welding experience (GMAW and SMAW)

Must have equipment rigging experience; rigging certification preferred

Crane operation experience and certification preferred

Thorough knowledge of mechanical blueprints, specifications, and codes

Thorough knowledge of other major craft blueprints

Thorough knowledge of all mechanical systems

Must be willing and available to work a 4x10 work week schedule plus overtime hours.

Must be able to undergo and pass a drug test

Must be able to undergo and take a welding test.

Must be able to work at heights that could exceed 30-40 feet

Must have their own Tig Rig, hand tools, and welding hood.

Must provide their own transportation to and from the work site.

Ability to schedule projects and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:

Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; stoop, or crouch.

Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment.

Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
