POSITION SUMMARY
Perform preparation and operate draw bench to draw metal rods into specified shapes and diameter. May perform a variety of general tasks including but not limited to coating, deburring, loading and moving material or tubes throughout facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIIBILITIES
Prepare metal rod/tube for the cleaning, pointing/swaging and draw bench processes.
Manually position and secure specified die and place metal rod/tube into draw bench.
Manually move levers and buttons to set draw speed and operation.
Inserts pointed end of rod through die and into holding jaws.
Manually place long metal tubes into pointer machine for swaging process.
Manually coat material/tubes with lubricating chemical.
May mix chemicals to create lubrication.
May perform cutting metal material by use of chop/abrasive saw.
Provide assistance in department functions.
May move parts from one operation to another throughout facility or within the department.
Verify conformance of workpieces to specifications.
Observe and monitor machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
May measure work piece dimensions.
Maintain clean and orderly work environment.
Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or General Education Development (GED).
Prior manufacturing and/or manual machine operation experience preferred or equivalent of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to operate equipment and controlling operations and systems.
Ability to follow all safety guidelines and protocols.
Ability understand and follow standard operating and safety procedures.
Basic knowledge of and ability to use basic hand tools and measuring devices.
Read and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
Ability to handle, install and position material.
Ability to use basic mathematical equations, including decimal calculations.
Ability to work under frequent changing priorities and deadlines.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
