Description

The Department for Local Government (DLG) serves the Commonwealth's local governments. The agency providesassistance in the way of grant and loan assistance, as well as advises counties, cities and special districtsin matters of budget, personnel, and other issues relevant to those entities impacted by natural disasters.

This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

Provides training, technical assistance and support to Disaster Recovery (DR) project applications andrecipients regarding program requirements of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and CDBG-DR program.Such as complex project planning, application preparation, project implementation & reporting.

Communicatewith grantees through emails, phone calls, and setting up meetings.

Assist in providing technical assistance to grant recipients.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Two years of administrative experience in business, industry, federal, state, or local government.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Graduate study will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Administrative experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required college on a year-for- year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Work typically involves extensive contact with the public. Travel may be required.
