The Film and Media Studies program at Lafayette College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position in Film and Media Studies, beginning January 2026 and concluding June 2027 (three semesters in total). We seek candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education to teach Introduction to Film and Media Studies, Film Theory or Media Theory, and upper-level elective courses in areas of research expertise. Area specialties in US film and television history, media industries and labor studies, documentary studies, eco-media studies, archive studies and historical methods, post-cinema studies, contemporary media studies, and feminist and queer media studies are preferred, but all areas will be considered. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience integrating opportunities for creative practice and/or community-based pedagogies into the undergraduate classroom. This is a full-time appointment with a teaching load of three courses per semester. A PhD or MFA at the time of appointment is required.
