Description

The Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct position in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Hofstra University. The Department of Physics and Astronomy welcomes applications in the field of Astronomy.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teach introductory algebra-based astronomy lecture with lab component servicing primarily non-science major programs.

Astronomy courses are in-person only.

Qualifications

An MS/MA in physics, astronomy, or a related STEM field.

Preferred Quals Summary

PhD degree in physics or astronomy, preferred.

Teaching experience.

Salary/Salary Range

$1,458-$1,711 per credit hour

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.

*Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.
