JOB SUMMARY
Provide a brief description as to the primary purpose of this job (no more than three to five sentences):
The Painter/ Prepper will produce a quality product while achieving production goals. Ensures all parts and surfaces are prepped and painted. Sands parts and surfaces for paint application. Selects paint according to Company requirements, sprays surfaces with primer, paint and/or finish coatings. Preps body work and touch ups and lays out graphics and designs on painted surfaces. Trains others as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
List essential job functions that comprise the job; describe in terms of actions (verbs) and desired outcomes in order of most important first:
Selects correct equipment according to product/part specifications Prepares units and unpainted items: degrease, tape, sand and seal.
Performs body work to assure a smooth surface and corrects imperfections before painting. Spray surfaces, parts and units with primer, paint and/or finish coatings.
Touch up of flaws such as blisters or streaks on painted surfaces, parts and units. Mixes custom colors and sprays all types of paint.
Cleans equipment and work areas.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred Certifications: none
