The Assembly Maintenance Director is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance operations related to Facilities and Production equipment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives. The Director will oversee a team of Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, Facility Engineers, Controls Engineers and Skilled Trades, and will collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality and safety teams to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all equipment and systems.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures and chronic issues.
Manage capital improvement projects related to assembly line upgrades, automation, and facility enhancements.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Oversee maintenance budgets, cost control, and resource allocation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support new product introductions and process changes.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, KPIs, and reporting systems.
Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance maintenance efficiency.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
10+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of assembly systems, automation, robotics, and PLCs
Proven experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems
Experience in multiple Centers; BIW, Paint and General Assembly
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
