Job Title: Forge Shop Helper

Department: Forge

Job Summary:

The Forge Shop Helper supports forge operators in the shaping of hot metal through hands-on assistance with machinery, die setup, and production monitoring. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized forging environment. Responsibilities include preparing materials and equipment, monitoring part quality, and performing a variety of operational and housekeeping duties.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up dies and trimmers for forging operations.

Produce and inspect a test part prior to initiating production.

Monitor parts visually throughout production to ensure quality standards are met.

Maintain required production rates during operations.

Verify tasks and operations against specifications and instructions.

Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor or lead operator.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 1-3 years of manufacturing or forge shop experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Team-oriented with a high degree of self-motivation.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally sit.

Ability to lift or move up to 40 lbs as needed.

Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a forge shop setting with exposure to high heat, loud noise, and industrial machinery. Appropriate safety equipment must be worn at all times.
