Description of Position: The EL Tutor supports English Learners in elementary grades by providing targeted instruction that promotes English language development and academic success across content areas. The tutor works under the supervision of the EL Teacher and in collaboration with classroom teachers to implement language acquisition strategies aligned with student goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Provide individual or small-group English language instruction to students in grades 1-5, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

? Use EL standards and assessment data to deliver language-focused lessons.

? Support students in accessing general education curriculum by pre-teaching key vocabulary, reinforcing core content, and developing academic language.

? Collaborate with EL teachers and classroom teachers to align instruction and share progress updates.

? Promote a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Experience working with elementary aged children, preferably in a school or tutoring setting.

? Strong communication and collaboration skills.

? Patience, flexibility, and sensitivity to the needs of diverse learners.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

? Part-time - up to 19 hours per week.

? School-based role; may require working in multiple classrooms or pull-out sessions.

? Reports to the designated school administrator.
