Controller

Century Group is partnering with a non profit client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $130,000 to $161,500 per year.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Coordinate with the Executive Director of Accounting & Business Services on financial close processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Plan and facilitate annual audits, preparing footnotes and pro forma statements while ensuring deadlines are met.

Oversee annual tax filings and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, including preparation of Form 990, Form 571-L, FSA EZ Audit, and AICAD Compliance.

Maintain and review the accounting structure of the ERP system, ensuring proper reconciliation and documentation for audit purposes. Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Possess thorough knowledge of accounting practices, auditing standards, and tax reporting requirements.

Demonstrate experience with integrated financial software packages, preferably Banner, an Ellucian ERP.

Exhibit strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

Showcase proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting. Qualifications:

Have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing business office operations, preferably in higher education or a non-profit environment.

Possess CPA certification or be actively working toward CPA certification.

Exhibit leadership abilities to supervise, coach, and develop accounting and financial staff.

Maintain excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Demonstrate the ability to promote and sustain effective working relationships within a diverse, multicultural environment.
