Temporary Mainentance Manager

Job Goal: Provide a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties including coordination and management to provide staff, students and the public with a safe, attractive, clean and efficient environment. Provide courier service for SASED classrooms and Administrative Center.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Valid Illinois Driver's License

Demonstrated physical ability to perform assigned responsibilities.

Possess light duty maintenance and painting skills as well as knowledge and ability to use common hand or power tools for making repairs.

Essential Duties:

Coordinate and perform courier service between SASED classroom sites and Administrative Center on a daily basis.

Monitor and manage the building and grounds help desk on a daily basis

Coordinate, manage and execute maintenance work orders for all locations as determined by building and grounds help desk requests

Conduct site visits to Southeast School for custodial and building services checks and/or identify problems

Communicate with Administrative Center building manager regarding staff requests, building maintenance projects, cleaning issues, temperature issues, plumbing problems, pest management, etc.

Oversee transportation for SASED

manage bus leases

Manage contracts for Amber Services and other maintenance contracts

Maintain OSHA regulations

Schedule any necessary drills with the Program Administrator at Southeast

Be an active participant in the Safety Committee with the Assistant Director of Programs and Services

Manage and coordinate all building related maintenance, repairs and emergencies

HVAC

Roofing

Plumbing

Schedule, coordinate and manage all required inspections and ensure compliance with recommendations. For example:

Heating and air conditioning

Roof

Back flow and water testing

ROE annual inspection

Life safety (10 year)

Mobile building

Sprinkler systems

Playground equipment

Naperville Fire Department (asbestos inspections)

Fire extinguisher (inspection/replacement)

and any other inspections required.

Schedule water testing for lead at Southeast and Transition Facility

Schedule Water filtration filter replacement at the Administrative Center, Southeast and Transition Facility

Coordinate Air Quality Control testing as needed

Coordinate and Maintain all Supplies:

Custodial-Southeast

Copy paper-All SASED programs

Laminating film-All SASED programs

Gloves-All SASED programs

Cleaning supplies

Coordinate the ordering, packing and distribution of Green Cleaning Boxes to all SASED classrooms at the start of the school year

Keep all copy machine areas stocked with copy paper.

Follow SASED purchasing procedures for maintaining inventories

Point of contact for all Furniture issues from repair to replacement

Coordinate, manage and provide follow through for IPM Pest management at Southeast and Transition Facility

Act as the primary contact with external janitorial services

Maintain and manage the storage areas at Administrative Center and Southeast

Risk Management

Follow up on accident reports as requested by HR

Organize and participate on summer crew performing annual custodial work and painting

Organize summer school moves and participate with crew to enable movement of equipment to and from each site

Coordinate major cleaning of Southeast including stripping floors, carpet cleaning, etc.

Coordinate and participate in painting projects

Coordinate and participate in any classroom moves throughout the year with equipment and manpower from one site to another school

Participate in emergency planning meetings and follow through as required

Assist in Obtaining quotes for

Landscaping (in progress the one for pests on my desk from Classic)

Snow removal

Custodial Services

Participate in Facilities planning projects

Maintenance of MSDS sheets for all chemicals used on SASED property

Ensure that all SASED custodial /maintenance equipment in proper working condition.

Keep areas surrounding the Administrative Center free from rubbish and debris.

Set up furniture for Administrative Center meetings as requested.

Utilize ladder as needed for cleaning and repair.

Establish and maintain cooperative and effective work relationships with others.

Provide custodial services to Southeast Alternative School and SASED Administrative Center as needed.

Terms of Employment: Temporary position ending October 17, 2025, 8 hours per day, work year at compensation set by the SASED Board of Control.

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the SASED Board of Control policy on the evaluation of staff.
