About the Job

The Seagate is seeking a Head Golf Professional to oversee all aspects of golf operations and deliver exceptional experiences for our members and guests. This role is responsible for managing tournaments, supervising the pro shop, providing professional instruction, and ensuring the highest standards of service and professionalism across all golf-related activities. As a key leader within the club, the Head Golf Professional will foster an engaging, welcoming environment that enhances the overall golf experience at The Seagate.

What You Do:

Manage and promote golf activities, programs, and tournaments for members and guests.

Foster a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere, maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Supervise and mentor assistant golf professionals and support staff.

Ensure smooth operation of the clubhouse, including bag drop-off, bag room, carts, caddies, practice range, starters, and pro shop.

Coordinate and oversee event logistics, including setup, tee times, and tournament administration.

Implement and manage the USGA handicap system and make rules decisions during tournaments.

Enforce club policies, rules, and regulations consistently.

Develop and execute a comprehensive golf instruction program for players of all skill levels.

Conduct regular teaching clinics and individual lessons to enhance player skills and enjoyment.

Manage inventory, sales, and merchandising within the pro shop, ensuring adequate stock levels and attractive displays.

Oversee club repair services, including re-gripping and coordinating major repairs.

Collaborate with club management on strategic planning and budgeting for golf operations.

Represent the club in professional tournaments and events as required.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices through continuous education and training.

Uphold the professional standards and code of conduct set forth by the PGA or equivalent governing body.

Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table:

Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.

PGA Class A membership or actively pursuing Class A status, in good standing with the PGA.

Proven experience in golf operations management, including tournaments, instruction, and pro shop management.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in POS systems, tee time management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve guest concerns effectively.

Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, or balance as needed.

Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Comfortable working in various weather conditions typical of outdoor golf environments.

Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
