Tooling Supervisor

* Create a team environment in order to exceed customer expectations.

* Coordinates daily with the Production Department and/or Technical Manager or designee, on all mold changeovers, repairs, modifications between Business Units/Director of Operations are completed within the time frame required.

* Assists Production and Maintenance Departments or designee in scheduling of work, setting priorities, coordination of spare parts inventory and record keeping on daily workflow through Tool Room.

* Oversee operation of the Tool Room activities such as, but not limited to; work assignments, shift assignments to insure efficient and continued operation of the Tool Room.

* Assists in training new associates with correct procedures and documentation process are being adhered to.

* Coordinate with Tool Room staff; setups and operates all tool room equipment using very close tolerances, mold cleaning and rework as outlined by the mold processing procedures for all facilities.

* Coordinates and interfaces with all activities involving all internal and external tooling activities with personnel in all departments by making cost, estimates, completion dates and updating progress of tools and molds in Tool Room care.

* Makes required purchases of cutting tools, end mills, files, grinding wheels and other necessary supplies to the operations of the department efficiently.

* Maintain the Tool Room area and keep equipment in good operating condition and repair insuring that all regulatory and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to.

* Assures that all paperwork is being filled out accurately by all associates, keeping completed and updated files on all projects current or complete and maintaining proper records of activities and making all necessary reports.

* Maintain proper records of activities on mold and make all necessary reports on time required to complete the job.

* Controls of shipment or transfer of all molds entering and leaving the Tool Room to either other business units or outside vendors.

* Responsible for special project assignments as requested and gives detailed reports of their results to the Production Department both verbally and in writing.

* Troubleshoots and recommends solutions for problem molds that have been assigned by the Production Department or designee.

* Assist Engineering Department when required.

Includes troubleshooting new and existing jobs, cycle improvements, quality improvement and tooling function, both molds and all secondary equipment and operations.

Assist in expediting molds, tooling, etc.

* Notifies all departments when a tool repair requires validation activities.

* Reports to the Technical Manager and Production Department all matters requiring their attention.

* Other duties as required.
