Estimator - Steel Buildings
Position Overview
The Estimator for Steel Buildings will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs and preparing detailed estimates for steel construction projects. This role involves collaborating with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure that all aspects of the project are covered and accounted for in the estimates.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed take-offs and cost estimates for steel building projects.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers to gather project specifications and requirements.
Review and analyze project blueprints and specifications to identify cost-effective strategies.
Prepare bid proposals and presentations for clients.
Maintain a database of labor, material, and equipment costs for accurate estimation.
Monitor market trends to keep estimates competitive and up to date.
Assist in negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
Proven experience in estimating for steel buildings or similar construction projects.
Strong understanding of steel estimating and pre-engineered buildings.
Familiarity with Butler Buildings and steel erecting techniques is a plus.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
