MISSION: Liberty Christian Academy exists to support parents and guardians in their biblical responsibility to nurture and train their children. Thus, LCA provides opportunities which allow students to realize their God-given potential and to live lives that glorify God in the spiritual, academic, social, physical and vocational realms.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Varsity Track Coach will work under the supervision of the Athletic Director in accordance with the mission of Liberty Christian Academy, planning, organizing, and conducting practice sessions. Provide training, direction, encouragement, and motivation in order to prepare athletes for meets. Run the middle school program.The coach must work within the framework of the overall athletic program at LCA and must understand the importance of working with the coaches of other sports to reach a common goal. The coach is responsible for recruiting, teaching, and training athletes to reach their full potential as a Christian, good citizen and the most successful wrestler that they can be Sportsmanship and discipline is of utmost importance and the coach must be the example that others can follow. The coach must oversee the entire track program (High School and Middle School) and aid in hiring varsity and sub-varsity coaches. The varsity coach must ensure the coaching staff has the same goals and that all protocols are followed
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold at minimum a bachelor's degree.
Possess experience teaching/coaching Track & Field at a high-level secondary school or college.
Be of outstanding Christian character and witness.
Have a sound Christian philosophy of education and athletic competition.
Creative and energetic.
Strong moral values and discipline.
Must be certified or can be certified through the VHSL's coaching education plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain compliance of all VHSL rules, regulations, and policies that pertain to athletic programs.
Promotes a favorable testimony of the school district.
Works with the athletic director to evaluate program needs.
Promotes the proper use and care of school property.
Communicate effectively with the team, staff, parents, administration, community, and the media.
Handle financial items for the athletic program, including the inventory and purchase of equipment.
Complete all necessary forms, including VHSL-required master eligibility forms.
SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP:
Act as the spiritual leader of school and community.
Show evidence of a consistent time of personal Bible study, prayer and outreach.
Maintain a Christ-like attitude.
