Job Summary:
The English Learner Paraprofessional provides support to EL students enabling them to receive greater benefit from the district's instructional programs. The paraprofessional providese native language support and/or EL support to students receiving EL/ESL services. The paraprofessional assists with tasks on a flexible basis to support all students, as well as assist with the smooth daily operations for the school. The position serves as substitute teacher and/or substitute paraprofessional for partial or full day needs in the building, assists in test administration and/or make up tests, provides coverage for the nurse/office, and supervises students during arrival, dismissal and lunch.

Qualifications:
ISBE Paraprofessional License required
Fluency in designated second language, and ability to translate
Teacher of Substitute Licensure preferred
Successful instructional or organized recreational experience with children preferred Salary & Benefits
Salary established by the Board of Education and PSRP agreement.
Hourly rate of pay for 2025-26 is $22.58. Paraprofessionals work 7.5 hours per day (7.0 paid hours and 0.5 unpaid lunch). The work year includes 180 days plus 10 paid holidays for a toal of 190 paid days (1,330 paid hours per year)
The Board will pay 100% of the premium cost of Employee Only HMO coverage and 90% of Employee Only PPO Coverage.
Beginning November 1, 2025, the Board will pay 60% of the premium for dependent coverage (Family, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Children).
