Description
SUMMARY: The Process Engineer Intern assists with optimizing manufacturing systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support projects in assigned area to help reduce costs and improve absolute efficiency.
Work with operations team to facilitate improvements in production rates, efficiencies, yields, and costs.
Lead development, training, and start-up of new projects.
Coordinate area continuous improvement efforts (i.e. 90-day teams).
Support shutdown planning and activities.
Monitor and report on daily quality parameters.
Coordinate and lead customer trial efforts.
Coordinate and assist chemical vendor trials.
Champion the area IT-based systems (i.e. PI, Proficy, Cognex, PacSim).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum freshman in chemical engineering or a related discipline with some work experience in a process industry.
Good analytical and project management skills.
Good communication skills, including verbal, written & presentation.
Good relationship and leadership skills, including ability to convey technical information to non-technical users clearly and concisely.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think "outside the box".
Proficient use of standard engineering software and analysis tools.
Highly organized, good attention to detail and uses efficient work methods.
Ability to travel to US locations (travel <10%)
