Quoter/Estimator

The Quoter/Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations based on customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This role supports the sales process by ensuring competitive and profitable pricing while helping the company win projects and maintain strong customer relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Review customer inquiries, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements

Analyze materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements to develop cost estimates

Prepare and submit detailed quotes to clients within required timelines

Collaborate with sales, procurement, and production teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive quoting

Maintain and update pricing databases, material costs, and labor rates

Track and follow up on submitted quotes to keep ERP software updated

Recommend cost-saving or value-engineering options to meet budget constraints

Assist with change orders and re-quotes as needed

Ensure all quotes comply with company policies, profit margins, and risk management standards

Participate in job hand-offs to ensure smooth transition from quoting to production

Qualifications - Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED required

3-5 years of relevant experience required

Post-secondary education in Business, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

Competencies:

Experience with estimating software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Excellent communication skills

Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
