Job Description

Job Title: Interventional Radiology Tech/Special Procedure Tech

Profession: IR Tech/Special Procedure Tech

Specialty: Interventional Radiology

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 10 hour days

Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week

Experience: Prefer 2 years of either IR or Cath Lab experience

License: BLS

Certifications: AART

Must-Have:

- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

- Assists physicians with arteriograms and other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile technique in diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Description:

Prepare the exam area prior to procedures.

Utilize sterile techniques during procedures.

Assist physician with procedures by passing supplies and taking exposures as directed.

Transport patients to and from the procedure area.

Conduct various vascular and neurovascular procedures, including biopsies and line placements.

Operate complex radiology equipment in accordance with established techniques and routines.

Utilize EPIC charting during patient care.

Demonstrate the ability to follow protocols and routines while ensuring patient safety.

Participate in call requirements during the work week, weekends, and holidays.

Work independently with an RN, as necessary.

Maintain a clean and organized procedure area.

Follow hospital policies and procedures to deliver high-quality patient care.

Adhere to the dress code of surgical scrubs.

Participate in department-specific training and maintain necessary skills.
