Job Posting Title: Business Manager Position Type: Professional / Unclassified Department: LSUAM AA - SA - ResLife - Finance and Human Resources (Sarah Ulkins (00009556)) Work Location: 0206 Louise Garig Hall Pay Grade: Professional Job Description: Business Manager Louisiana State University invites applications for the position of Business Manager working with the Business Operations of Residential Life.

Residential Life is an auxiliary enterprise for on-campus student housing overseeing an $90+ million budget with approximately 8,500+ students in 16 residence hall communities, three single student apartment complexes, and three Greek houses.

Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, the Business Manager serves as cost center manager for 37 cost centers assisting the Director of Business Operations in all areas of business operations including processing procurement transactions, generating expense reports, reviewing financial transactions, and financial reporting.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE: * Manage procurement, accounts payable, payroll, journal entries, CARD entries, and budgets for 34 cost centers * Monitor and steward financial and human resources; compile, analyze, and report financial data; prepare and review periodic budget-to-actual reports; forecast year-end projections.

* Prepare requisitions for multiple Residential Life areas, manage revenue-generating contracts, and oversee contract renewals and initiations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership and Administration (40%) Oversees business manager role for department of Residential Life.

Demonstrates divisional attitudes and priorities in all aspects of work.

Is accountable for executing accounting tasks and objectives including, but not limited to procurement, accounts payable, payroll, internal transactions, journal entries, CARD entries and/or budget for the various 34 residential life cost centers.

Prepares journal entries, payroll accounting adjustments and CARD entries as needed.

Provides leadership to one student worker.

Resource Management (20%) Stewards resources (human, financial, etc.) to ensure quality, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, relevance, and alignment with institutional and divisional objectives.

Compiles, analyzes and reports financial data internally and forecast year end budget projections.

Prepares/reviews quarterly, semi-annual and yearly budget-to-actual financial reports for operating budget, Residential/honors college, residential education agency and capital repair/maintenance project accounts.

Quality Control (20%) Ensures business office for residential life outputs including financial oversight, administrative tasks, programs/services/events/experiences, and all communication exudes a high degree of quality.

Ensures quality in every aspect of the position.

Embraces and executes the marginal gains approach and seeks to improve level of all services, events, programs, and experiences in department for continuous improvement every academic year..

Procurement (15%) Prepares procurement requisitions for Residential Education, Information and Security Services, Facilities, Communication/Administration, Residential Colleges and Business Office divisions of Residential Life.

Manages revenue generating contracts and initiates new contracts/renewals when necessary.

Other Duties (5%) Other duties as assigned by the executive director and direct supervisor.

This includes but is not limited to: efforts that support broad division/institution efforts including at least 40 hours per year spent helping divisional initiatives such as Move-In Day, Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Career Expo, Disability Services Finals Testing, other special projects etc.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years Accounting, budgetary, finance or related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business related field 5 years Accounting, budgetary, finance or related experience with knowledge of university procurement.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/EXPECTATIONS: This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.

This position regularly engages in financial matters including handling credit cards, cash, grant funds, or other university funds, and must undergo a credit check per FASOP HR-04.
