Position Overview.

Our client is one of the fastest-growing continental agribusiness companies with a passion for poultry and an offering that ranges from eggs to frozen chicken and feed to day-old chicks.

Currently, the Kenyan operation's focus is on Day-Old Chicks & animal Feeds.

The company seeks to hire dynamic, go-getter, results-oriented, and hands-on Technical Area Sales Representatives to drive sales and market penetration in their respective areas.

The areas include Nakuru, Eldoret (to be based in Kitale), Ongata Rongai, and Meru.

The ideal candidates will come from either the poultry industry or an FMCG background and will be passionate about building strong relationships with growers and achieving sales performance Job Summary Job title : Technical Area Sales Representative Function : Sales.

Reports to: Area Sales Team Leader Supervises: None Salary budget: Kshs 40,000 Gross.

Number of Positions: Four (4) Positions Placement: Immediate DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS) Responsible for the sales of Day-old chicks and Feed as per set targets in the designated sales area.

Employ different sales tactics to acquire new chicks and feed customers.

Engage new and existing customers to initiate sales of chicks and feeds.

Follow the agreed weekly route plan to ensure maximum coverage in the allocated sales area.

Act as a link between feed agents and the Company by receiving orders and communicating the same to the Warehouse/Store Supervisors and Sales/Logistics Manager.

Act as a link between growers and agents when agents are needed.

Set up and conduct seminars with growers on Company products to boost awareness and sales.

Acquire market knowledge and report the same to the Supervisor.

Informs and hands over to the Supervisor any new potential customer that can be categorised as a “formal grower” within the designated area.

Prepare reports as per the company-approved Report matrix.

Attend meetings as per the Meeting schedule.

Responsible for developing, maintaining & building strong customer relationships in the designated sales area.

Visit customers on an ad hoc basis.

Maintain relationships with growers through site visits, WhatsApp groups, and phone calls.

In consultation with Technical Support, advises growers on broiler management.

Continually look for new customers and send the Technical Support team to inspect the site/houses for any potential customers.

Visits potential customers based on the Technical Support team’s positive feedback.

Work closely with the Technical Support team to ensure all customers’ complaints are dealt with and closed on time.

Handle sensitive customer complaints to maintain strong relationships.

Responsible for the operation and safety of the allocated motorbike.

Ensure the allocated motorbike is in good operating condition at all times.

Timely reports of fuel and maintenance requirements for the allocated motorbike.

Ensure the allocated motorbike is properly insured and licensed to operate in the designated sales area.

Timeously reports accidents and repair requirements to the in-charge personnel.

Responsible for motivating & enforcing team compliance with all relevant Company SOPs & policies, statutory regulations, and expected Company behaviours at all times.

Adhere to all relevant SOPs at all times, including Occupational Health & Safety standards.

Comply with biosecurity, QA SOPs & animal welfare standards.

Comply with Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) and Good Management Practice (GMP). Communicate QA requirements to the team & report all non-compliance issues to the Supervisor.

Identify corrective actions & monitor their implementation.

Communicate & monitor implementation of Company policies and SOPs at all times.

Communicate & monitor implementation of local legislation and all statutory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALITIES Experience: Over Five (5+) years in sales and distribution or technical assistance in the poultry sector.

Qualifications: A holder of a Diploma in Animal Health & Production.

A degree in Animal Health & Production will be an added advantage.

Must be a holder of a valid riding license and can ride a motorcycle.

Experience in providing technical support to poultry growers - broiler management will be an added advantage.

Skills needed (Essential): Good communication skills (oral and written), problem-solving, good interpersonal skills, Computer literacy (Excel), Planning skills, and a Driving license for motorcycles.

Skills needed (Preferred): Good communication skills (oral and written), problem-solving, good interpersonal skills, Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook), Planning skills, technical knowledge in poultry keeping, Proficient at driving both motorcycles and motor cars.
