Job Title: Process Engineer - Crystal Growth
Location: State College, PA (On-site)
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
Position Summary:
Seeking a Crystal Growth Process Engineer to lead improvements in single-crystal production using the vertical Bridgman growth method. Responsibilities include developing procedures, executing test runs, analyzing data, and implementing process enhancements. The role also supports government-sponsored programs, quality investigations, and statistical process control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement production methods for single-crystal growth.
- Plan and execute test runs; analyze results and drive improvements.
- Support government-sponsored development and ensure compliance.
- Apply statistical tools to monitor and optimize production.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Correlate raw material properties with crystal growth parameters.
- Prepare technical reports and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and R&D teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related field (PhD preferred).
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN Manufacturing, and statistical tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with manufacturing documentation and schematics.
- Willingness to perform a variety of manufacturing tasks.
