The Children's Center Head Start/Early Head Start is a federally funded program that provides no cost services to qualifying families who reside in the community.

Comprehensive services are provided to pregnant women and their partners and children from birth to 5.

Child development, health and family services are provided through a variety of program options designed to meet the needs of low-income and at-risk families.

We have an opportunity for an energetic and dynamic Cook to join our cooking team and be a part of our school staff.

Our food service staff is dedicated to providing the best quality meals to our students.

Our Cooks… * Work in a collaborative environment and foster positive relationships with staff and students.

* Preparing meals including breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack each day.

* Are responsible for maintaining a clean kitchen that adheres to Virginia Department of Health standards and Virginia Licensing standards.

* Creating grocery order and stocking order.

* Stay dedicated to our mission in order to build an educational foundation for each child to grow cognitively, emotionally, and physically each day.

We are most interested in applicants who… * Have 1-3 years of experience working in a food service setting * Have familiarity of Virginia Department of Health regulations * Have familiarity with USDA * Flexibility with work hours and scheduling * Positive attitude and strong work ethic Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED equivalent * Current Food Handler's Card or the ability to obstain * 1-3 years experience in an early childhood setting or kitchen setting is preferred * Valid Driver's License Benefits: * 14 paid holidays * Up to 13 paid vacation days * 401K * Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision.
