Outreach Specialist for Health Center

Full Time Days

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Health Center Outreach Specialist for Faith Mission in Columbus, Ohio. Faith Mission is one of the largest homeless shelters in Columbus, Ohio, providing meals and shelter to men, women and Veterans with dignity and compassion.

What will I do as the Health Center Outreach Specialist with Lutheran Social Services?

Conduct research on community needs, issues, trends, and target populations to identify appropriate outreach initiatives.

Promote awareness of the organization's services, activities, or events through various methods such as distributing flyers, creating advertisements, setting up displays, or writing press releases.

Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues and partners to discuss strategies and methodologies, and to determine national and local priorities and competencies to ensure the achievement of concrete and sustainable results.

Collaborate with LSS marketing department to promote awareness regarding health initiatives, health center services, and important public health information.

Establish relationships with local businesses, media outlets, and government agencies to promote awareness of the organization's mission and objectives.

Represent the Health Center at local and state planning and/or community groups.

Build and maintain a positive and professional relationship with funders and other community organizations.

Provide resources regarding PrEP, sex education, and linkage to care during health promotion and community functions

Collect, transport, and interpret laboratory specimens to facilitate services such as HIV and other STI testing during outreach events, as well as completing necessary follow up

Promote health prevention and harm-reduction services in regard to Substance Use Disorder and HIV/AIDS

Develop and implement outreach programs such as health fairs, awareness day programs, and other initiatives.

Record data on community needs, participation rates, and outcomes of events and programs.

Support other outreach events and initiatives that other health center staff are leading.

Requirements for the Health Center Outreach Specialist with Lutheran Social Services:

One to two years of HIV or prevention background preferred

Two plus years of customer service experience required

Able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends as needed.

Valid Ohio driver's license, access to reliable insured transportation and ability to meet LSS insurance standards required.
