Sheet Metal Mechanic - Journeyman

Skillforce is hiring experienced Sheet Metal Mechanics to fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and architectural metal components for commercial and multi-family construction projects. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential and career growth! The anticipated work schedule for this role is Monday-Friday 40-50 hours a week and pay is up to $35/hr depending upon experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret blueprints and job specifications

Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal using hand and power tools

Install HVAC ducts, vents, and architectural metal features

Perform on-site layout and assembly

Ensure proper sealing, insulation, and alignment

Maintain safety standards and a clean work environment

Collaborate with other trades and site supervisors

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

4+ year of sheet metal installation experience

Proficient with brakes, shears, saws, and welding tools

Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams

Strong attention to detail and physical stamina

Preferred Qualifications:

Trade school or apprenticeship training

Experience with large-scale commercial or multi-unit residential projects

EPA certification
