Job Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Security Supervisor position will be responsible for day to day oversight of the Site Security Department on a day to day basis for all posts. This role must be familiar with the security officers on staff and oversee their general conduct and performance in their roles. This role must remain alert to the day to day operations and needs of the plant in order to properly advise the security team on their normal duties and expectations as situations arise.
Essential Functions
The primary duties of the Security Supervisor are outlined below, but this is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary:
Protect all people, property and assets within the limits of the premises of the facility
Enforce all policies and procedures for the company as well as our regulatory agencies
Train officers on post duties, policies and procedures
Evaluate officer performance and provide feedback to the officer as well as the company
Plan schedules, tasks, activities and complete timekeeping functions
Organize manpower and resources to accomplish the goals and objectives for the company
Ensure proper paperwork and reporting procedures
Assess situations and determine courses of action
Work in conjunction with the Logistics team to monitor customer and vendor traffic through the facility and with the weigh scales
Serve as the example of good will and positive relations with staff, visitors and colleagues
Company FSO duties
Partner with Safety and Environmental to ensure compliance with federal government and MSHA regulations.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 3 years of relevant experience in a heavy industrial environment. Good oral and written communication skills for dealing with other staff members, contractors and the Operations Manager as well as Maintenance, EHS & the Lab
Special skills or knowledge preferred:
Knowledge of and experience with the Coast Guard FSO regulations for a MARSEC facility highly preferred.
