Job Title: Veterinarian Job ID: 79842 Location: Grove, California Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high quality medical care to a variety of animal patients, including diagnostics, treatment, surgery, and preventive care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to animal welfare. What you will be doing:
Provide medical, surgical, and dental care to a wide variety of companion animals
Perform thorough physical examinations and diagnostics
Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other medical conditions
Conduct surgeries, including spaying, neutering, and soft tissue or orthopedic procedures
Administer vaccinations and prescribe medications
Provide guidance on nutrition, behavior, preventive care, and general wellness Communicate treatment plans and options clearly to pet owners
Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records in accordance with California regulations
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care
Participate in continued education and stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine
Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations, including California Veterinary Medical Board and DEA guidelines
Participate in team meetings, training, and hospital development initiatives
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful work environment
Other duties as assigned What you must have:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution
Valid veterinary license in the practicing state CA
DEA license required
Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills
Experience in general practice, surgery, or emergency medicine preferred
Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills
Compassionate, professional demeanor and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Professional Liability Insurance (employer will be reimbursed and/or prorated)
Ability to work some evenings and weekends, as required by the practice schedule Preferred Skills
1-3 years of experience in small animal practice (new grads welcome to apply)
Experience with digital radiography, in-house labs, dental radiography, and EMR systems
Bilingual (Spanish or other language) is a plus
Familiarity with digital imaging, ultrasound, and lab diagnostics
Experience with practice management software
Background in team leadership and site management, including oversight of staff and workflows, is desirable. Salary/Rate Range: $150,000 - $200,000 Other Information:
