Machine Tender

Purpose:

The Machine Tender is responsible for ensuring the accurate and proper set-up and monitoring of the non-woven machine in the production of high-quality product. Able to instruct and monitor other crew personnel in their daily duties on this machine. Able to work safely and independently to identify and resolve any quality issues.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

Identify all machine parts and systems and know their function in non-woven production.

Accurately execute and document proper machine adjustments in response to quality control testing results of physical and attribute sampling.

Prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little or no supervision.

Safely and properly clean and maintain all required production machine equipment.

Possess the mechanical abilities to safely dismantle and re-assemble machine equipment related to machine clothing changes.

Conduct and report results of attributes testing of product during non-woven production.

Follow and ensure all crew personnel are working in accordance with all Ahlstrom Fiber Composites policies and procedures.

Perform other related projects and machine duties as assigned.

Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Possess high school or equivalent education.

Ability to read, write and understand fluent English.

Minimum requirement of 1-2 years Machine Tender or 2-4 years of Backtender experience.

Basic PC skills for machine systems preferable.

Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks

This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation.

Physical Demands:

Possess a high level of agility.

Ability to work safely in a hot and wet environment for extended periods of time.

Ability to work in confined spaces with all required P.P.E.

Ability to work rotating shifts.

Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
