Position Summary
The Painter position is responsible to prepare and paint parts for use in the assembly of products in accordance with quality and productivity/efficiency specifications.
Essential Functions
Places individual pieces or racks on conveyor
Prep products, pieces and parts for paint
Washes parts with high pressure washer using wand-type sprayer
Applies powder coating to prescribed thickness evenly and consistently
Mixes and applies wet paint with a high degree of quality
Ability to use media blaster
Proper use of designated PPE for Paint Dept
Other duties and functions as assigned
Ability to follow directions
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
0 - 1 years of paint application experience in an industrial setting
Must be able to use electrostatic powder coating equipment and wet spray guns
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance manuals
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to read blueprints
Must maintain good attendance
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and with assistance
Ability to bend, kneel and stoop frequently
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to follow all safety requirements
Ability to work in small areas in order to perform the work
Ability to work with both arms extended for an extended period of time
Ability to climb step ladders, work platforms as needed
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
