Transportation Design Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to join a fast-growing civil engineering team working on a wide range of urban and rural roadway projects for local and regional agencies.

Why You Should Be Interested: * Flexible work options: in-office, hybrid, or fully remote (for PE-licensed candidates with 5+ years of experience) * Emphasis on work-life balance: encouraged to maintain a 40-hour work week * Join a rapidly growing team (from 5 to 50 in 5 years) * Opportunity to grow into engineering management or business development * Work on a large backlog of impactful transportation projects * Supportive culture with career development and technical growth Key Responsibilities: * Lead or support roadway and highway design projects from concept through construction * Prepare construction documents and design plans using Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and MicroStation/InRoads * Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met * Assist in project initiation, design reviews, and quality control * Communicate project progress and technical details effectively with internal and external teams Qualifications: * 4+ years of experience in transportation design (roadway/highway) * Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and/or MicroStation InRoads * Strong understanding of the project lifecycle and public infrastructure design standards * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field Preferred Qualifications: * PE license (or ability to obtain within 3-6 months) * Experience with roundabout design * Familiarity with local agency standards and DOT requirements * Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small design teams Work Environment & Flexibility: * Offices in Denver and Colorado Springs * Flexible work options: in-office, hybrid, or fully remote (for PE-licensed candidates with 5+ years of experience) * Collaborative team of 10+ engineers with strong leadership and mentorship * Emphasis on work-life balance - encouraged to maintain a 40-hour work week Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
