Material Analyst

Join our dynamic team in Blacksburg, VA, a vibrant community known for its scenic beauty and innovative spirit. We are seeking a dedicated professional to contribute to our operations and ensure seamless material management.

Provide support services to complete daily business activities, including administrative, clerical, technical, production, or trade levels.

Responsible for the entire process of getting products from suppliers to customers, including obtaining goods and services, inventory planning, production planning, and control.

Manage the movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials.

Handle import/export and customs management, and freight forwarding services.

Execute shipping and receiving, warehousing, order filling, picking, and packing.

Develop transport schedules, methods, and routes; analyze and project transportation costs.

Operate low complexity motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

Maintain, load, pack, and drive vehicles as needed.

Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external transport providers.

Acquire and manage fleet vehicles.

Overview

Apply broad knowledge of systems and procedures acquired through several years of experience.

May provide guidance to other employees.

Purpose

Deliver on day-to-day objectives efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications/Experience

Broad knowledge of administrative/clerical support services and activities acquired through extensive experience.

Typically requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience.

Problem Solving

Tasks and problems are sometimes routine with slightly complicated solutions.

Management & Supervision

Work under moderate or limited supervision with general instructions for new types of work or special assignments.

Additional Information

Work hours are flexible between 6:30 am – 5 pm, with specific shifts available.

A valid driver’s license is required to potentially drive the company van between Blacksburg facilities.

No forklift operation is required for this position.
