Job Overview

The Yard Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations in the yard, including managing and supervising yard and security personnel, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise Yard Jockeys and assign tasks as necessary

Ensure that all safety protocols are implemented and followed

Oversee the Sub-Contracted personnel checking in and out drivers and the loads.

Communicate with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and management to ensure smooth operations.

Implement and enforce policies and procedures

Maintain records and reports on yard activities

Participate in hiring and training of yard personnel

Maintain Equipment operation readiness.

Conduct regular checks and coordinate repair on trailers and equipment to prevent breakdowns.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred

3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills

YMS experience preferred

Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures

The Yard Coordinator should be a responsible and detail-oriented individual who is able to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.

Salary: $24.50 per hour
