Fire Sprinkler Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Estimator to join our team. This person can be based near any of our Michigan offices and will travel throughout the Michigan market, as needed.

The primary purpose of this position is to prepare accurate estimates for fire sprinkler systems in various construction, retro-fit and service projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations while providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work for fire sprinkler systems.

Prepare detailed cost estimates for fire sprinkler installations, retro-fits and service, including materials, labor, and overhead.

Collaborate with project managers and sales team to develop proposals that meet client needs.

Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary data for accurate estimations.

Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to fire protection systems.

Engage with vendors and subcontractors to acquire pricing and evaluate options for materials and services.

Prepare and submit bid documents and manage follow-up communication with clients.

Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and correspondence for future reference.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an estimator in the fire protection industry, specifically with fire sprinkler systems.

Ability to travel throughout Michigan, as needed.

Strong knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, including WET, DRY, Pre-Action, Deluge, and Fire Pump systems.

Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, as well as OSHA regulations.

Proficient in mathematics and calculations necessary for accurate estimations.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

NICET certification in fire protection or relevant fields is a plus.
