Your Role: Farm Equipment Technician
As a Trailers, Trucks and Tractors Mechanic, you will play a critical role in repairing and maintaining tractors, trailers, and trucks at our Pelion Fleet Shop. You will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
What You'll Do:
Repair and maintain company tractors and/or trailers using hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and machine tools
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair engine, driveline, and ABS-related issues
Examine parts for defects and excessive wear, replacing or reconditioning as needed
Diagnose electrical circuits using computer-based software diagnostic programs and printed wiring schematics
Perform routine maintenance checks, including brake systems, wheel bearings, electrical systems, and air systems
Set up and use cutting, welding, and metal fabrication equipment to complete trailer repairs
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company maintenance standards
Complete work orders and maintenance logs accurately and efficiently
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Need to Succeed:
Technical school degree and/or previous tractor/trailer repair experience
Valid Driver's License required
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Strong oral and written communication skills
Work Environment:
Varied temperatures - May work in hot or cold environments
Exposure to loud noise in an industrial setting
Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required on concrete flooring
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. repetitively and overhead
Must climb on/off trailers throughout the shift
