Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Machinist will set up and operate CNC Mills / Okuma and Haas Milling machines and conventional machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program CNC machines using CAMWorks software integrated with SolidWorks.

Perform set-up and first article on CNC Mill tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

Read and interpret blueprints.

Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.

Properly and safely load and unload raw material in CNC machinery.

Use measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.

Perform tool wear offsets.

Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.

Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures.

Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

Required Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, grinders, etc.)

Ability to learn CAMWorks software integrated with SolidWorks.

Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements

Understand and have the ability to perform tool wear offsets

Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset.

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Desired Qualifications

Experience using CAMWorks with SolidWorks for programming CNC machining operations.

Salary range: $35-$40 an hour
