Manufacturing Machine Operator/Technician- DOE

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Machine Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment in a manufacturing or production environment. This role ensures that machines operate efficiently with minimal downtime and meets production quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance on machines and mechanical equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting parts.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems with equipment and machinery.

Repair or replace defective machine parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Install new machinery or equipment according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Conduct preventive maintenance and keep detailed maintenance records.

Work with production staff to understand machine performance issues and implement solutions.

Calibrate machines to ensure they operate within required tolerances.

Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical school certificate or associate degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred.
