We are looking for a Senior Director to develop world-class traffic management capabilities for Affirm, supporting our mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives.

What You’ll Do

Set the vision for traffic management, capacity planning, and load testing at Affirm.

Hire and lead engineers with expertise in load shedding, rate limiting, caching, etc.

Lead annual peak season planning across the technology organization.

Partner with teams to roll out capacity planning and load testing tools.

Participate in engineering-wide roadmap planning.

This role requires a leader who can set a strong vision and get involved in the details, understanding our business, systems, and team.

What We Look For

Experience in traffic management, load testing, or capacity planning at large-scale organizations.

Proven ability in designing traffic shaping, cluster management, and load shedding systems.

Track record of delivering complex engineering projects.

Experience in hiring and collaborating with principal engineers.

Strong leadership and mentorship skills.

Attention to detail and strong opinions on technology development.

Excellent communication skills.

Alignment with our mission and meritocratic culture.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Pay Grade: V

Equity Grade: 13

Salary Range: $270,000 - $310,000 per year
