Manufacturing Engineer
Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Sturgis, MI 49091
Salary: $85,000 - $90,000
We are the leading walk-in van body manufacturer in North America, producing over 7,500 vehicles annually. Our portfolio of customers serves a multitude of industries and delivery applications. The primary industry served by these Walk-in vans is parcel package pick up & delivery because most everything ordered online is delivered by a Walk-In stepvan. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, direct, analyze, and coordinate manufacturing processes for continuous improvement within our facility located in Sturgis, MI.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop and improve production methods using knowledge of design, materials, tooling, equipment, and Lean Manufacturing principles
Partner with engineering, programming, planning, and vendors to ensure efficient material usage, tooling design, and product specifications
Estimate staffing, timelines, and costs; analyze workflow, space utilization, and future manufacturing needs using statistical methods and nesting programs
Investigate defects to root cause, implement corrective actions, and use data to establish metrics, prioritize projects, and report improvements
Adhere to safety and quality policies, maintain records, manage equipment/tool requests, and actively contribute to team efforts and pilot product changes
What You Need for this Position
Bachelor's degree in business administration, science, or a related field
2+ years of professional manufacturing experience
Lean Six Sigma
3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
Automotive/Truck industry experience
