Job Description

We are seeking a Rotary Screw Technician (RST) who will work with our Sales, production and product teams. The RTS takes customer service calls, troubleshoots, installs, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on rotary screw air compressors, requiring the ability to read technical documents, use precision tools, and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues. Essential duties include performing diagnostics, repairing or replacing components, documenting work, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and providing technical support and customer service.

What You Will Do:

• Diagnostics and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in rotary screw compressors.

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections, to ensure optimal performance.

• Component Replacement: Remove, inspect, and replace worn or damaged parts like bearings, seals, and rotors.

• Installs: Visit customer sites for the install of various products in support of the sales team or distributor partner.

• Documentation: Complete work orders, service reports, and daily logs to document all maintenance and repair activities.

• Technical Reading: Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications to understand system operation and repair procedures.

• Quality Assurance: Inspect and test equipment before and after repairs to ensure proper operation and adherence to specifications.

• Customer Interaction: Respond to customer needs, explain technical issues to non-technical clients, and maintain professionalism.

• Parts Management: Work with service coordinators to gather the necessary parts and supplies for installations and repairs.

• Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary in support of the corporate mission, vision and values.

What Skills & Qualifications You Will Need:

• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and control systems for compressors.

• Diagnostic Tools: Ability to use precision measuring instruments for troubleshooting.

• Documentation: Skilled in reading and interpreting technical documentation, such as schematics and bills of material.

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex issues.

• Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to satisfy customer needs.

• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy components (often over 50 pounds) and work in various environments.

Your Potential Work Environment(s):

• Shop or Field: Technicians may work in a service center or travel to customer sites in a service van.

• Hazardous Conditions: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, and sometimes fumes, dust, or chemicals is common.

• Heavy Equipment: Operation of tools and equipment including cranes and forklifts is often required.
