Aurora R-8 is seeking a special education paraprofessional to work with students at the K-2 level. This person must have 60 college hours or have passed the para test. A college degree or someone working towards a teaching degree is preferred.
This person will supervise students throughout the day, help them with daily living tasks diapering, potty-training, lifting, feeding, etc., help them regulate when having behavior issues, and assist with academic tasks. They will support the student in the school setting and help make individual student accommodations as needed and directed by the teacher. The person must be able to document well, have good communication skills, and be able to work with a variety of people. They will travel to other classes and activities to help students participate and remain staff.
