Job Title: Industrial Refrigeration Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Refrigeration Technician to install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems, including ammonia and Freon-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial refrigeration, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, CO2, or glycol systems)
Perform routine preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment, compressors, chillers, evaporators, and condensers
Diagnose electrical and mechanical problems in refrigeration systems
Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations (OSHA, EPA, IIAR)
Maintain accurate service records and documentation of work performed
Respond to emergency service calls and perform on-call duties as scheduled
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training preferred
Operator 1 Ammonia Certification - Minimum Requirement
Operator 2 Ammonia Certification - Preferred Requirement
2+ years' experience as a refrigeration technician/operator
Valid Driver's license
Universal EPA Certification required
RETA certification (CIRO, CARO) preferred
Strong understanding of electrical systems, control panels, and PLCs
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical skills
Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be able to work flexible hours, including on-call rotations
Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Proficient reading schematics
RETA Certification

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
Able to work in cold storage/freezer environments
