Position: Part-Time Porter
Location: 1001 St. Paul Street Condominium
Reports To: Building Manager
Job Summary: 1001 St. Paul Street Condominium is seeking a Part-Time Porter who will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the common areas in a high-rise condominium building. This position requires a dependable and proactive individual who will contribute to creating a welcoming and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and clean common areas including hallways, lobbies, elevators, stairwells, and outdoor areas.
Clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces as necessary.
Empty trash and recycling bins in common areas and ensure proper disposal.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the building's garage and outdoor spaces.
Building Upkeep:
Perform minor repairs or maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or fixing small equipment issues.
Ensure that common areas are free of debris, stains, and other hazards.
Check for safety hazards and report them to management.
Customer Service:
Greet residents, visitors, and contractors courteously.
Assist residents with special requests as needed, such as helping with large packages or guiding visitors.
Provide basic information to residents and guests about the building's amenities, services, and policies.
Security & Safety:
Monitor the building for security concerns and ensure that common areas are properly locked and secure.
Report suspicious activity or security concerns to building management.
Assist in maintaining fire and safety equipment, ensuring they are properly stored and accessible.
Miscellaneous:
Assist with deliveries and packages, including receiving and storing items in the designated areas.
Support building management in special projects or events, as needed.
Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a cleaning or custodial role, preferably in a residential or commercial building setting.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed (up to 50 lbs).
Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
Ability to follow safety protocols and building policies.
Work Schedule:
Part-time, approximately 24 hours per week.
Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Compensation:
Hourly rate: $20 per hour.
