JOB SUMMARY
The Market President plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of Today's Bank within the banking industry. The role is responsible for leading a team of professionals, developing and executing business strategies, and fostering strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. The role also holds responsibility for lending operations and is responsible for managing and retaining existing loan/bank relationships while generating new business. The position is accountable for the evaluation, approval, and servicing of consumer and commercial loans, and deals with the most complex, larger credits in the bank, making a wide variety of secured and unsecured Commercial R/E and Commercial and Industrial loans.
Market Oversight
Work in cooperation with the local staff, coordinating market strategies and event planning to increase loan and deposit relationships.
Lead and direct business activities to support banking officers as it relates to lending and deposit relationships, with emphasis on the total banking relationship.
Strengthen connections to the Bank by cultivating and maintaining relationships with members of the community.
Promote goodwill and products/services offered by the financial institution.
Communicate and manage growth with budgetary expectations, implement strategic plans and procedures, and reach profitability objectives.
Take an active, visible role in the respective community by participating in local business, civic, and charitable organizations.
Manage local donation and sponsorship requests.
Ensure full compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
Establish sales goals/strategies and regularly assess performance against set goals for the market.
Formulate and expand business development activities within the market through aggressive marketing.
Oversee and manage market financials on a monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis.
Lending Operations
Develop new business through customer contacts and calling efforts, and meet loan production goals.
Develop referral networks, suggest alternate channels, and cross-sell products and services.
Evaluate prospective borrowers' general creditworthiness and determine whether the transaction merits moving forward to the full underwriting process.
Ensure that extended credit maximizes bank profits and provides a quality asset.
Manage existing loan portfolios, renewals, exceptions, past dues, and customer service.
Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and the feasibility of granting loans.
Maintain orderly credit and collateral files.
Manage pre-closing and post-closing loan processes.
Keep senior management informed and aware of portfolio or individual loan risk.
Underwrite new loans/renewals for Loan Committee presentations.
Adhere to bank loan policy and regulatory compliance when approving loans.
Assist the Lending team in special projects or loan requests.
