The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks (VHSO) is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as Chief of Staff (COS) in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead high-quality, cost-effective care for our nations Veterans while shaping the future of medical staff development and healthcare innovation. This position is currently open to VA employees only.

Position Highlights:

Salary range: $250,000 - $375,000

Relocation assistance is authorized

Recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

CME reimbursement: Up to $1,000 per year (for full-time board-certified physicians)

Malpractice coverage provided, including free liability protection with tail coverage

No physician employment contract and no significant moonlighting restrictions

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a senior leader, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence

Oversee medical staff recruitment, compliance, and development.

Foster strong relationships with academic affiliates, research initiatives, and community partners.

Promote a culture of continuous process improvement and patient safety.

Act as a key liaison between the VA, federal agencies, and external stakeholders.

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of two years as a Chief of Staff or Deputy Chief of Staff in a VHA Health Care System.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with facility and VISN leadership.

Experience overseeing interdisciplinary programs across diverse populations.

Demonstrated success in strategic planning and performance improvement.

Board certification preferred.
