Primary Care Physician - Oxford, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our healthcare team in Oxford, NC. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients in a rural setting, addressing a wide range of medical conditions while promoting overall wellness within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care:
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic assessments
Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
Provide preventive care, including screenings, vaccinations, and health education
Manage common illnesses and injuries; coordinate care for complex cases
Deliver care across all age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics
Community Engagement:
Foster strong relationships with patients and families by addressing their unique needs
Participate in community health initiatives and educational programs
Build trust within the community and advocate for patient healthcare needs
Collaboration & Coordination:
Work collaboratively with specialists, nurses, and support staff
Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care
Utilize telemedicine and other technologies to extend care
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate and compliant patient records
Manage scheduling, billing, and other administrative responsibilities as needed
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practice guidelines
Emergency Care:
Provide urgent care for a wide range of medical emergencies in a rural setting
Respond quickly and effectively to patient needs in emergent situations
Professional Development:
Stay current with medical advancements and continuing education requirements
Participate in professional organizations and relevant conference
Qualifications:
Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Licensure: Active NC medical license (or eligibility)
Board Certification: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty (board certified or board eligible)
Experience: Prior experience in rural or underserved settings preferred, but not required
Skills:
Strong diagnostic and clinical abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage diverse patient needs
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
Working Conditions:
Setting: Clinic environment
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform medical procedures and assist patients with mobility as needed
