Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role

As a Business Partner – Data, Evidence and Insights, you will act as a vital link between the business and the Data, Evidence and Insights teams. Your role combines strategic advising, stakeholder engagement, and project oversight to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of data-driven insights that inform decision-making across the social sector.

You will commission and scope analytical work, manage delivery, and help shape the methodologies and frameworks that underpin our advice on complex social issues. This role requires strong relationship building, excellent communication, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable data projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Provide high-level advice on complex social sector issues, trends and opportunities

Lead strategic planning, commissioning and delivery of analytical projects

Partner with teams across the agency to translate business needs into actionable data work

Build strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and other key sector partners

Support and enhance analytical frameworks and best practices across the organisation

Contribute to the agency’s reputation as a centre of excellence for evidence and insights

Proven experience in a partnering or advisory role, ideally in the public or social sector

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships

Experience with data tools and technologies (e.g. Power BI, R, SQL)

A relevant tertiary qualification – postgraduate study in a quantitative field is a plus

An understanding of Mātauranga Māori and tikanga is highly valued

Utu ā-tau Salary

Band 20: $171 870 - $202 200 - Salaries are negotiated based on relevant skills and experience.
